about Dr. Emelia Sam is the author of "I Haven't Found Myself...but I'm Still Looking." Having originated the website www.espaceonline.net in 2006, she was encouraged by her subscribers to compile her weekly reflections into a book. The result is this newly released project which has been receiving positive reviews. "...it's been really heartwarming to have virtual strangers touched by words that I've written, things that I've said. It's nice to know that I can make a difference even on the smallest of levels. I guess every bit counts." Though she has been in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery for the past seven years, Dr. Sam has felt the pull to fully embrace her underlying passion to write. Still involved in the world of academia, she finds balance in maintaining creative pursuits. "I get one of two reactions. Either people don't understand why I need to do anything other than surgery, but more often than not people have been supportive...I think we get way too caught up in defining ourselves by our professions, and when we step away from them people question the deviation...I really feel like we can be as many things as we want to be. Most of us never explore our full potential . We settle into being one thing whether we enjoy it or not..." Her main interests lie within the field of spirituality. She has been greatly inspired by the works of Iyanla Vanzant, Marianne Williamson, Dr. Deepak Chopra, Dr. Wayne Dyer, and countless others. "I Haven't Found Myself...but Im Still Looking" is her contribution to the growing sphere of self-help and motivational tools. "I strongly feel that spirituality is something everyone can incorporate into daily living. Usually the word conjures up thoughts of religion or images of individuals who have renounced modern comforts to attain some "spiritual ideal"...and although those may be valid routes to becoming more spiritual, not everyone finds themselves able to follow those paths. I think spirituality is accessible to all of us through really listening to what's going on inside of us, really understanding our motives, and trying to make the most conscious decisions. We can all become better people even if we choose to do so through different methods... 'I Haven't Found Myself...' is a simple way to achieve that introspection. It takes less than ninety seconds to get through one reading - that's ninety seconds to improve oneself..." Dr. Sam is currently a member of Toastmasters International and is a candidate of the National Speakers Association. She has also been a guest contributor to To Be Conscious online magazine.
